William Tauscher brings a wealth of financial and managerial experience to his role as Executive Chairman. This experience gives Vertical a unique advantage as it pursues its mission to provide businesses with enterprise communications solutions that enable and support critical/natural workflows.
Bill is the founder of The Tauscher Group, which invests and assists in the management of enterprises in various industries. Previously, he served as chairman and CEO of Vanstar Corporation (formerly ComputerLand Corporation), having led the group that acquired ComputerLand in 1987. Under his guidance, Vanstar grew to be the largest PC sales and service company in the world, and was sold to Inacom in 1999.
Prior to Vanstar, Bill was the chairman and CEO of FoxMeyer Corporation, a wholesale pharmaceutical and beauty-aid distributor, from 1977 until its sale to National Intergroup in 1986. He currently is Chairman and CEO of Blackhawk Network, a billion dollar prepaid network that distributes and processes gift cards and other prepaid cards through third-party retail distributors. He also serves on various boards of directors, including Safeway Corporation, a $45 billion food and grocery company, and holds controlling investments in a number of successful companies.
President & Chief Executive Officer
As a co-founder of Vertical Communications in 2004 (along with Mr. Tauscher), Peter Bailey has led a talented team to the Company's current incarnation as a market and thought leader in the enterprise communications technology sector. With over 20 years of experience in technology, operations, finance and executive management, Peter is responsible for Vertical's overall strategic direction, and is intimately involved in its day-to-day operations. Prior to his current role as President and CEO, he served as President and COO with responsibility for the Company's sales, marketing and operations organizations.
In 2011, Peter was appointed CEO and joined the Board of Directors for Vertical. Since that time he has led the company through a period of significant growth and market share expansion. He credits Vertical's talented, dedicated and "extremely stubborn" staff for all the Company's ongoing success, noting, "Business is the ultimate team sport, and we have a fantastic team."
Peter started his career with Salomon Brothers, Inc. in New York, and holds a B.A. from Princeton University.
Chief Financial Officer
As Vertical's CFO, David Krietzberg works with the company's executive team and board of directors in developing and implementing its financial initiatives and programs, as well as maintaining relationships with financial institutions and investors. An industry veteran, Dave joins Vertical after serving briefly as chief financial officer of Fulton Communications where he helped facilitate the merger of Vertical and Fulton.
Prior to that, he worked at Crexendo, a provider of hosted communications services, where he held the posts of senior vice president and chief administration officer.
Dave also served as chief financial officer for both Mitel U.S. and Inter-Tel Technologies, where he was instrumental in acquiring over $100 million of direct sales and services businesses in 33 cities over a four-year period. He was vice president of finance and treasurer with Executone before its merger with Inter-Tel, and holds both MBA and BBA degrees from Pace University in Pleasantville, NY.
Executive Vice President and General Manager Direct
Serving as Vertical's executive vice president while retaining his position as chief executive officer for Fulton Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of Vertical Communications, Ben Treadway is responsible for Vertical's direct sales and service organization. His long and distinguished career in telecommunications began in 1979 when he started as a sales representative with Dictaphone and quickly rose through the ranks to branch manager. He then joined Executone as a sales manager in 1982, where he spent the next decade in various sales, managerial and executive capacities.
Ben ventured out on his own in 1993 when he opened American Telecom, an Atlanta-based systems integrator, which he sold to Inter-Tel in 1996 and became general manager of the company's Atlanta branch. Over the next 10 years with Inter-Tel, he rose to the position of senior vice president for the company's Eastern Region.
After leaving Inter-Tel, Ben acquired Fulton Communications, an Atlanta-based systems integrator, and developed it into a market leading national communications solutions provider. Since spearheading a buyout of Fulton's ownership in 2006, he grew its annual revenue nearly 600 percent. He also paved the way for Fulton's partnership with Vertical, where it ranked first in sales for the past two years as a Vertical Diamond Dealer.
Executive Vice President and General Manager Retail
Richard joined the Company in January 2005 as Executive Vice President and General Manager. Prior to joining Vertical, he was the Executive Vice President and General Manager
of CFM Corporation, a leading integrated manufacturer of home products. He was with CFM Corporation from October 2003 until January 2005.
Previously, Mr. Anderson was CEO of Temtex Industries, Inc. from July 2002 until its purchase by CFM Corporation in October 2003. Mr. Anderson also served in various executive roles, including Chief Operating Officer of KnowledgePlanet from September 2000 until July 2002, and held Senior Vice President positions in sales and marketing for Inacom and Vanstar Corporations.
Executive Vice President and General Manager Channel
In his role, Rick Dell is responsible for day-to-day operations with a focus on sales, channel management, marketing, customer support and operations. Rick has been a leading executive in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining Vertical in 2011, he served as president of Mitel Networks USA, leading sales, marketing and operations.
During his time there, Mitel's operating profit improved from a net loss to a positive double-digit margin. Before Mitel, Rick was with former industry leader Inter-Tel, Inc. as executive vice president of sales. During his eight years there, he grew sales revenue almost 400% and delivered sales margins in excess of 20%. He also cultivated a successful and thriving dealer channel. In 2007, he was responsible for the successful integration of all US Sales and Operations when Mitel purchased Inter-Tel.
Prior to joining Inter-Tel, Rick served in various sales roles with TIE Communications, Inc. and Executone of Ohio. He attended Ohio State University and holds an Engineering degree from DeVry University.
Senior Vice President and General Manager Products
Bobby Mohanty oversees Vertical's product strategy, development activities and engineering operations. Bobby recently returned to Vertical after a two year stint as Avaya's senior director of product management for its unified communications applications solutions.
Prior to Avaya, he served as Vertical's vice president of product management and engineering. During his seven year tenure at Vertical, he was instrumental in designing and delivering many of the company's leading edge solutions, including its flagship Wave IP Communications Platform; the company's award-winning ViewPoint unified communications application; as well as its vast portfolio of innovative contact center, market-specific solutions and mobility tools.
Senior Vice President Field Service & Operations
Al Loaiza reprises his role of Senior Vice President of Operations with Fulton Communications at Vertical, where he is responsible for the company's day-to-day logistical strategies and field service operations.
Al has an extensive resume of executive experience over the last 30 years.
He previously served as Vice President of Americas Client Services Delivery for Mitel, one of the company's top margin producing divisions. There he led the Professional Services organization that consisted of over 200 field technicians, remote technicians, project managers, systems implementations specialists and the Customer Care Center. As VP, Al's key focus was evolving the organization from a largely direct services organization to a greater balance of delivering direct and indirect services. He joined Fulton in April of 2014 and quickly reorganized its operations to create a focus on accountability, which helped produce record-setting quarters.
Al's earlier executive experience includes leadership positions with ACS Systems Inc., Convergent Communications Inc. and Inter-Tel.
Senior Vice President Manufacturing & Warehouse Operations
Marc Niknam is responsible for Vertical's Operations organization. His responsibilities include Manufacturing, Quality Control, Supply Chain Management, Distribution and Information Technology.
Marc brings over 25 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality control and technical support to Vertical. His expertise helps ensure that our solutions meet the high demands of our customers' environments.
Marc joined Vodavi Technology, Inc./Executone Information Systems, Inc. (which was later acquired by Vertical) in 1988 as executive director of engineering, operations, technical support and repair center. From 1989 to 1994 he served as director of operations, where he was responsible for setting up multiple factories overseas, as well as implementation of ISO 9000 standards in those factories.
Previously, Marc worked for Eaton Corp., Tracor Applied Sciences, Inc. and Honeywell. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Vice President Marketing
Tech industry veteran Scott Taylor drives Vertical's branding, lead gen and marketing activities, parlaying close to two decades of experience in successfully executing marketing communications and sales campaigns for technology companies on both the corporate and agency side.
Scott joins Vertical after serving as vice president of sales and marketing for ITque, Inc., a leading IT solutions provider in Northern California. In this capacity, he drove the company's marketing and sales efforts and managed partner relationships with telecommunications and technology partners that included Comcast, Intel, Dell, VMware, Fonality and Datto. Prior to ITque, he held executive positions at California's Bigfoot Networks and Pinnacle Systems.
