FiberCom and Vertical Contribute to Building Hollidaysburg Pennsylvania’s World Class YMCA with Telecommunications Equipment Donation

WOODBURY, PA, October 29, 2008 - FiberCom and Vertical Communications, a leading provider of next-generation IP phone systems and voice applications, today announced the donation of new telecommunications equipment to Hollidaysburg Area YMCA. In all, the new communications infrastructure donated to the Hollidaysburg YMCA includes a new Vertical STARPLUS STS telephone system with digital voicemail/auto attendant capabilities, paging system, music on hold and an array of desktop telephones. The new telecommunication infrastructure at the expanded YMCA facility is now better equipped to provide outstanding customer service and streamlined decision-making by connecting staff together for immediate contact and sharing of information.

The YMCA’s purpose is to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Recognizing the existing facility was not able to accommodate the demand for services and growth in the surrounding area, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA formed the motivation to commit $7.4M to expand the existing facility by adding over additional 32,000 sq. ft. Currently, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA serves over 10,000 participants and their families encompassing 35 ZIP codes.

Vertical Communications, which donated the new digital telephone system, digital voice mail and assorted telephone handsets, established this community outreach program as a way to help 501c3 charitable organizations have access to the latest communication technologies. As a Vertical’s President’s Club Elite member, FiberCom is able to provide a local area charity with a Vertical equipment donation. Installation and training services were donated by FiberCom.
